Unichef: Uniting Through Food (TLC and Discovery Channel)

With the holidays right around the corner, this special is a perfect reminder of what is really important in life. The hour-long special, based on the cookbook of the same name by Hilary Gumbel will take a look at the lives of celebrity chefs Sandra Lee, Ming Tsai, and Donatella Arpaia, and discuss how each one of them is making a difference through their volunteer work and the initiatives they have started. Bonus: you can feel good about watching this special since all royalties will be donated to The U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life (Netflix)

Ok, so truthfully this was a no-brainer for me. I grew up watching Gilmore Girls and I re-watched the reruns throughout college. Needless to say, I am more than excited to catch up with my favorite fast-talking, pop culture referencing, fictional heroes. With all of the favorites coming back to Stars Hollow, including Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil, and Sean Gunn, why would you not watch this?

Legends of the Hidden Temple (Nickelodeon)

I know this may seem like a weird and random choice, but hear me out. I picked this one out for two somewhat logical reasons. First, I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for the “classics” of my childhood and I think there is at least a chance I’ll be able to sit through this reboot. Secondly, I’m really curious how this made-for-TV movie that is based on a children’s game show from the 90s will work out as a family film. As someone who sits through way too many made-for-TV holiday films every year, I think this film has a decent shot at turning out ok.
